South Africa: Welcome to the Wild!

Every year in July, we start a 2 weeks trip, from Port St John’s down to the Transkei, the “Wild Coast” for the annual SARDINE RUN! Where thousands of Birds, Dolphins, Whales and hundreds of Sharks are coming for the feast of  the “Sardines”! An Absolute Adrenaline Rush that you will never forget! Afterwards we’ll move North to the KwaZulu Natal to dive at Protea Banks for some “baited Shark Dives” with Oceanic Blacktips, Bullsharks and if we’re lucky even with Tiger Sharks … After these days of real and close Shark encounters, we continue our journey further North to dive at Aliwal Shoal in Umkomaas for more Shark dives and even more Fun! In the evenings we do “Braai” (Local Barbecue) and also Wine testing.  An Absolute ‘Must Do” Trip for Sharks & Nature Lovers!

Yes, South Africa is all about Sharks and Big Stuff, but there is so much more to discover. There are caves with ‘Raggies’ -Ragged-Tooth-Sharks/ Sandtigers, colorful Nudibranch and Leaffish, Snorkeling with Dolphins and Whales, giant Leatherback-Turtles…

And of course we organize land based excursions too. You don’t want to miss the ‘Big 5’ on land. We will bring you to see Zebras, Rhinos, Elephants, Hippos, Gazellas, Warthogs and hopefully a Leopard or a Lion or 2… Make sure to always close the window from your room or otherwise wildlife encounters might get too close when you suddenly have a Monkey sitting on your bed!!

At first we were a little scared of the Sharks, but Gabriel made us feel comfortable all the time. It was a great adventure! We will never forget the Tigershark , the pod of Dolphins and the 7 Lions in the park!
